52nd Day

In Betsy's math we did pre-algebra problems. We measured the no-sew blankets and we found out that most of the blue is smaller than most of the red, but some are the same size. We also made patterns for the fringes. In Kim's math we worked on MathBlaster. We looked at how far our turtles had traveled in the Great Turtle Race. In Science, we learned about skeletons. We talked about different skeletons for different animals. In Social Studes we pretended that jellybeans were money and the tax collectors were taking the colonists money away. We each chose a task out of a cup and we were that person -- tax collector, king, colonist or Parliament. At the end the king got most of the jellybeans. One colonist had no jellybeans left. We finished "The Name of this Book is Secret." There are two more in the series, but we won't read them aloud (No. 2 is "If You're Reading This, It's Too Late" and No. 3 "This Book is not Good for You"). NOTE FROM KIM: There is a website with activities, but I haven't had the chance to check all of them -- http://www.hachettebookgroup.com/features/secretwebsite/index.html. So please use with care.
