Today we began with keyboarding. In Betsy's math we measured our creatures and we played SNAKE. In Kim's math we had math buddies. Holly came to read to us. We went to music and sang songs like, "Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang." In Spanish we played hangman and choose our people that we will act out to other classes. In computers, we reviewed working with different clip art layout.
Why do we do math buddies? Here were the kids' answers. It's fun - really fun! Addition war helps us learn addition and helps us think faster and shows us that some numbers are greater than and some less than. We also worked on puzzles. Puzzles help us learn about relationships with people and spatial relationships (how things fit together). They also show us more than one way to solve a problem. Some of us also made a marble tower. It was like solving a puzzle because you had to connect things the right way.
